SUNG WOO thermal fuses, or thermal cut-off (TCO) fuses, or also Thermal Link, are microdevices arranged to protect against overheating and act by interrupting the passage of current in an electrical circuit when the operating temperature exceeds the rated or melting temperature of the TCO.

SW-1 SERIES - The operation of this thermofuse is given by the combination of a chemical-organic slurry called thermal pellet and a spring that keeps the contacts closed until the melting of the thermal pellet, which occurs when the temperature for which it was constructed is reached. When the temperature of the application reaches the melting temperature of the thermal pellet, it melts allowing the compression spring to relax. This causes the internal sliding contact to move away from the two conductors, thus opening the electrical circuit. Compact in shape and very small in size (diameter 4 mm), it can work up to 15A 250V and is highly sensitive to ambient temperature.

SW-2 SERIES - The SW-2 series uses an alloy that melts when the ambient temperature rises to the melting point of the alloy. At this point, the electrical circuit opens with the formation of two separate spheres at the edges of the electrical conductors.

SW-3 SERIES - The SW-3 series has the same physical dimensions as the SW-1 series but is rated for operating currents up to 20 Amps (250 VAC). The internal operation of the SW-3 series fuse is identical to that of the SW-1 series, the only difference being that, internally, when the Thermal Pellet melts and the internal spring opens the electrical contact, it is completely disconnected from the two connecting rheophores, being a sliding contact. This brings two advantages: a higher ampere rating and, at certain melting temperatures, a higher maximum exposure temperature (Tm)

SW-5 SERIES - The SW-5 series is designed to meet applications requiring miniaturized components that do not need maximum current-breaking capability. It is used for equipment such as transformers, electric motors, battery packs, and applications on electronic circuits.

FEATURES- Wide range of products for many applications- Temperature stable- Wide temperature range- Small size- Simple installation- Various connections- High reliability

APPLICATIONS- Household appliances and equipment, electrical systems and machinery such as: refrigerators, rice cookers, coffee makers, grills, stoves, irons, heaters, hair dryers, cleaning appliances, battery mixers, car air conditioners.
