GENERAL INFORMATION  I protettori termici bimetallici vengono costruiti per proteggere gli apparati elettrici contro repentini ed anomali innalzamenti di temperatura. Il loro funzionamento si basa principalmente sulla dilatazione e contrazione dell’elemento sensibile contenuto all’interno della custodia (Lamina bimetallica). All’innalzamento della temperatura, la superficie della lamina con maggiore coefficiente di dilatazione inizia ad allungarsi: la naturale estensione della lamina viene però ostacolata dalla parte deldimensla lamina con minore coefficiente di dilatazione. Le due superfici iniziano pertanto a contrarsi, sin tanto che la parte più sensibile flette quella meno sensibile.

OPENING CONTACTS  At this instant, the sensing element quickly flexes (quick snap), opening the contact and interrupting the power supply.

RESTORATION OF CONTACT  When the temperature conditions prior to the danger threshold have been restored, the protector, taking advantage of the same principles listed above, but in reverse order, returns to close the contact, allowing the circuit to be energized.

NO CONTACTS (Normally Open)  In normally open contact applications, the process is reversed.

SERIA AM   AM series thermal protectors are self-resetting thermal switches designed and manufactured to be easily inserted into the coils of electric motors, transformers etc. In fact, the particularly low profile of the housing allows high adaptability to tight spaces.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS  Electric motors, transformers, coils, audio-video amplifiers, home appliances, electronic boards (hard terminals), electrical equipment in general.

PROPRIETA’  Elevata sensibilità alla temperatura, con tempi di commutazione estremamente rapidi; uniformità di prestazioni nel tempo. Piccole dimensioni, con custodia plastica conforme a norme UL 94 V-0.
