Descrizione
PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient), is a ceramic semiconductor with a positive coefficient that changes its resistance as a function of temperature. TMC PTCs are thermal protectors designed and manufactured for insertion into the coils of electric motors or transformers.
OPERATION In the event of a temperature rise within ten degrees of the rated temperature, a change in resistance greater than 1kOhm is observed. This change is read by an instrument connected to the PTC (trip), which opens the circuit permanently.
MOUNTING PTCs should be inserted parallel to the winding direction to minimize mechanical stresses.
The dimensions of TMC PTCs are particularly small to facilitate hank insertion and to ensure rapid response to temperature variation. The sensing element is insulated with heat-shrinkable Kynar® (registered trademark of ATOFINA) sheathing.
Color coding of the leads allows immediate identification of temperatures
